Hoping for a Rosace Cure? - The Motley & Finlay Study

Although rosacea patients are frequently not well enough informed to seek medical treatment, they are typically consciousness enough of the changes in the skin's condition to actively seek out a "cure."

Motley and Finlay's study of 100 patients showed that:

  • 62% would pay 100 pounds for a cure;
  • 87% would prefer a cure over a gift of 500 pounds;
  • the amount of money patients were willing to pay for a cure did not change in relation to the severity of their skin disease.

The study demonstrates that self-perception of rosacea and the desire for its treatment are not linked to its severity but to the presence of underlying psychological factors.
