• Rosacea is not acne, but can be present at the same time as acne.
• Rosacea is a progressive skin disease and must be taken seriously.
• Rosacea is not just sensitive skin or "a couperose" skin .
• Rosacea is not caused by unclean skin -- aggressive facial cleansing and exfoliating regimens are likely to worsen the condition by sensitizing rosaceous skin further.
• Do not use strong anti-microbial skin care products (such as those containing benzoyl peroxide) on rosacea; rosacea papules and rosacea pustules are not the result of bacteria.
